Finished building it - the wiring in back is a rat's nest... that's what I get for not heeding Fonik's advice to use a 1U 19" panel.
Loads of fun! Module details here. Picture doesn't show it well, but I used 2.5 mm red-green LEDs to show available pattern steps and the active step.
